BYD has begun taking advance reservations in China for the latest Seagull, known as the Atto 1 in some markets. Buyers can place an order through BYD’s official app with a 2,000-yuan deposit, equivalent to about Rp 5.3 million. The payment confirms interest and remains refundable before orders are finalized; customers can also change their chosen configuration after the official launch. BYD has yet to disclose the car’s price.
The new model is substantially larger than its predecessor. It measures 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. The five-seat cabin has up to 1,380 liters of luggage capacity with the rear seats folded, along with a 94-liter storage compartment beneath the hood.
Power comes from a 95 kW (127 hp) electric motor driving the rear wheels. Buyers will have a choice of 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh batteries. BYD’s claimed driving range is 320–420 km under China’s CLTC test cycle, or approximately 262–344 km on the WLTP standard. A report also points to possible fast charging from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, though that capability has not been confirmed. A roof-mounted LiDAR unit paired with the DiPilot 300, also called God’s Eye B, is listed as an option.
The new Seagull is expected to cost less than 100,000 yuan in China. For comparison, the previous model’s highest listed price was 85,900 yuan. These figures are estimates and reference prices; BYD has not released official pricing for the updated car.
