BYD has begun taking advance orders in China for the second-generation Seagull, known as the Atto 1 in some overseas markets. The company has not disclosed the final price, but the car is expected to cost less than 100,000 yuan (about 260 million rupiah). Reservations through BYD’s app require a 2,000-yuan deposit, which can be refunded before an order is finalized. Buyers will also be able to revise their configuration after the official launch.

The new model measures 4,205 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,570 mm tall, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. Its length has increased by 425 mm compared with the previous generation. The five-seat cabin is paired with a boot offering up to 1,380 litres with the rear seats folded, plus a 94-litre storage compartment under the front hood.

Power comes from a 95-kW (127-hp) electric motor driving the rear wheels. BYD lists 30-kWh and 39.2-kWh battery options, with claimed ranges of 320–420 km under the CLTC cycle, or about 262–344 km under WLTP. A potential fast-charging system is said to take the battery from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, but that capability remains unconfirmed. An optional roof-mounted LiDAR system is also mentioned, linked to the DiPilot 300, also called God’s Eye B, driver-assistance system.

For comparison, the first-generation Seagull topped out at 85,900 yuan in China. BYD has not said when the new version will launch in Indonesia.
