BYD has started taking orders for the Racco in Sri Lanka, marking the first electric kei car offered in that market, and has also opened pre-orders in Macau. Sri Lankan orders began on October 9, 2026, with a special price of 11.45 million Sri Lankan rupees, roughly 1.16 million baht, valid through November 9. The car was introduced at events in three major Sri Lankan cities on October 13.
Sri Lanka will get the Premium trim in a choice of six exterior colors. Its reported specifications match the Japanese version: a front-mounted electric motor producing 47 kW, a 35.8 kWh battery and a claimed range of 320 km. Listed equipment includes power-operated sliding doors at the rear, 15-inch wheels, a 10.1-inch display, power-adjustable leather seats, a front-view camera, front and rear radar sensors, and six airbags.
Macau’s BYD operation has announced pre-orders, but has not disclosed a price. The first batch is eligible for a discount of up to 10,000 Macau patacas, approximately 41,000 baht. The UK is mentioned as a possible next destination, while expansion to Australia appears less certain: Mitsubishi reportedly abandoned plans to offer its eK X EV there after finding vehicle homologation costs too high. Whether BYD will take the Racco to other right-hand-drive markets remains undecided.
