BYD has put the refreshed 2027 Yuan Up on sale in its home market — the compact electric crossover that international customers know as the Atto 2. The headline change is a new top-range grade promising up to 501 km of CLTC range, while the entry price holds steady at 74,800 yuan, or roughly US$11,150.
The line-up spans five trims priced from 74,800 to 104,800 yuan (about $11,150–$15,630). Buyers trading in an older vehicle can shave up to 5,000 yuan off, which lowers the effective starting point to 69,800 yuan, and launch perks worth as much as 11,199 yuan are also part of the deal.
Mechanically, BYD has simplified the range: every trim now uses a single 70 kW (94 hp) front motor with 180 Nm of torque, dropping the punchier 130 kW unit previously offered. The added range comes from a new 51.13 kWh Blade LFP pack supplied by FinDreams, well beyond the old 401 km ceiling, while 301 km and 401 km variants continue with 32 kWh and 45.12 kWh batteries. DC charging restores the battery from 30% to 80% in half an hour. Underpinnings and dimensions carry over: e-Platform 3.0 with cell-to-body construction, and a 4.31 m body on a 2.62 m wheelbase.
Cabin updates include a two-spoke steering wheel, a drive-mode stalk that frees up space beneath the 50W air-cooled wireless charger, heated and ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, and DiLink 100 electronics with a 12.8-inch rotating screen. Upper trims get the DiPilot C assistance suite with highway navigation support and automated parking, for which BYD even covers potential parking damage. Two new colors join the palette as the model squares off against the Geely EX2, badged Galaxy Xingyuan in China, among other small electric crossovers.
