Denza, BYD’s premium brand, has begun taking orders and reservations for the N8 electric SUV. The model is expected to reach some markets in November, but pricing has not been announced. The related N8L, which shares its battery, costs the equivalent of about €36,000; the article estimates the shorter N8 could cost the same or less. Unlike the N8L, it has five seats rather than six.

The N8 will be offered with rear-wheel drive in 435 hp and 503 hp versions, as well as an all-wheel-drive, three-motor model rated at 1,210 hp. That version has a 367 hp front motor and two 422 hp rear motors. BYD’s e3 platform, DiSus-A intelligent air suspension and rear-wheel steering are among its hardware features; driver assistance uses the God’s Eye 5.0 package. The rear motors can also support tight pivot-style turns and low-speed movement over difficult terrain.

Two second-generation Blade Battery packs are listed, with capacities of 105.79 kWh and 130.15 kWh, and the SUV supports BYD’s flash-charging technology. Claimed CLTC ranges span 800 to 1,003 km; the article estimates equivalent European-cycle figures of 648 to 812 km. A plug-in hybrid version is planned for later, with an estimated 352 km of electric range under WLTP.

The N8 measures 5,150 mm long and has a 3,075 mm wheelbase. Its five-seat cabin includes a 30-inch panoramic display, a 1.1-metre-wide Sky Screen, rear entertainment screens and a Devialet audio system. Four ventilated, heated and massaging zero-gravity seats recline, while the front seats fold back to 165 degrees. The cabin also gets two 50 W wireless chargers and a refrigerator. Luggage capacity is 1,046 litres, with an additional front compartment.
