BYD’s luxury marque Yangwang has confirmed the overseas name of its upcoming flagship sedan: Altior. Previously known by the code name HU, the car is scheduled for a world debut in Dubai next week, although the exact presentation date has not been announced. In China, it will be called Dingyao. Its expected price is around US$300,000.

The Altior measures 5,500 mm long and has a 3,350 mm wheelbase, making it about 100 mm longer than the standard Rolls-Royce Ghost. The article identifies the Ghost, Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Huawei-JAC’s Maextro S800 as rivals. The sedan’s styling draws on the Yangwang U8’s design language, with a more formal, limousine-like shape and a front-end reference to the ancient Chinese ding ceremonial vessel.

BYD has not confirmed the technical details. The report says the car is expected to use four electric motors and hydraulic suspension, but presents these as unverified indications. Holding the debut in the United Arab Emirates points to the Middle East as an early target market. Yangwang delivered 3,251 vehicles from January to September 2026, up 38.9% year on year, according to China EV DataTracker. The Altior will not be the marque’s most expensive model: that remains the U9 Xtreme hypercar, priced at about US$3 million, with production limited to 30 units.
