BYD is scheduled to launch the third-generation Qin Plus in China on October 27, according to a report by Auto Home citing official information. The automaker has not confirmed the date on its own channels. BYD has released images of the redesigned sedan’s exterior and cabin, but has not announced prices.

The new Qin Plus measures 4,840 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,498 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. Compared with the current model, that is an increase of 60 mm in length, 63 mm in width, 17 mm in height and 82 mm in wheelbase. Exterior details include a broad front end, fastback profile, full-width taillights with a Chinese-knot motif and a new island-blue color. Roof-mounted LiDAR is also featured, though BYD has not said which versions will get it. The cabin has a two-spoke steering wheel, floating central screen and partly concealed air vents, while retaining some physical controls. BYD says the redesign also responds to user feedback with more storage and upgraded seats and panoramic sunroof.

Regulatory filings list a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a 1.5-liter engine producing 74 kW and an electric motor rated at up to 120 kW; the battery-electric version has a 100 kW motor. The outgoing Qin Plus is priced from 79,800 to 131,800 yuan, but the new model’s pricing is unknown. The launch comes as Qin-series sales weaken: the lineup sold 23,472 vehicles in September, down 65.27% year on year, and 207,589 in the first nine months, a 54.71% decline.
