BYD is advertising the entry-level Song Pro GL for R$161,490 in Brazil, down from a stated list price of R$189,990. The offer is for individual buyers and runs through October 31, 2026; BYD directs customers to its website for the full conditions. The report describes the reduction as R$28,800, although the two quoted prices differ by R$28,500. A separate financing offer calls for R$64,596 upfront plus 36 monthly payments of R$3,656, bringing the total to R$196,212.
At the promotional price, the GL undercuts higher-trim Volkswagen T-Cross versions cited in the report: the Comfortline at R$173,790, Highline at R$186,290 and Extreme at R$193,490. The discounted Song Pro is the 2026/2027 GL with the earlier exterior design.
The 2027 Song Pro’s 1.5-liter engine now supports both ethanol and gasoline. It retains 98 hp, while torque rises from 12.4 to 12.8 kgfm. The electric motor is rated at 163 hp, and combined output is 218 hp for the GL and 219 hp for the GS. With gasoline, the new GL is rated at 16.0 km/l in city driving and 13.9 km/l on the highway under Brazil’s Inmetro cycle; ethanol figures are 12.1 and 10.7 km/l.
The GL’s battery grows to 13.1 kWh and its electric-only range reaches 57 km; the GS retains an 18.3-kWh battery and is rated for 72 km. AC charging remains capped at 6.6 kW, with no fast-charging capability.
