Changan is preparing to launch the Lumin Plus in China, a five-door version of its small electric city car. The extra rear doors and stretched body are intended to make access easier and give rear passengers more room. The model retains the rounded design, circular headlights and compact proportions of the three-door Lumin, along with darkened pillars and familiar rear lights.

The Plus measures 3,515 mm long, 1,715 mm wide and 1,545 mm tall. That makes it 245 mm longer and 15 mm wider than the three-door car, while its 2,200 mm wheelbase adds 220 mm. Changan says the longer distance between the axles improves rear legroom. Inside, the layout includes a central multimedia touchscreen, a digital instrument display and a three-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel. The rear seatbacks fold in a 50:50 split to accommodate larger loads.

The Lumin Plus carries over a 35 kW (46 hp) motor producing 83 Nm of torque, paired with a single-speed automatic transmission. Eco and Sport driving modes are also listed. Silver-bodied examples with brown interiors have appeared at Chinese dealerships, but Changan has not yet disclosed full equipment details for the different versions or the car’s curb weight.
