Xpeng has introduced the L05 in China, a five-seat SUV that could join the brand’s European range in 2027. Promotional pricing in its home market starts at 139,800 yuan, equivalent to about €18,600 at the exchange rate cited in the report. The L05 is offered as a fully electric vehicle or with a range-extender powertrain.

The SUV measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,640 mm tall, with a 2,940-mm wheelbase. Its cargo area holds 702 litres, expanding to 1,913 litres; battery-electric versions also have a washable 102-litre front storage compartment. Inside, equipment includes a central display and a 26.8-inch panoramic head-up display. Options include a 17.3-inch rear screen, a 20-speaker audio system and a sport-oriented package with 20-inch wheels and Nappa leather trim.

All versions use rear-wheel drive and an electric motor rated at 249 hp and 280 Nm. The battery-electric models use LFP packs of 58.2 or 71.1 kWh, with a claimed maximum range of 635 km under China’s test cycle. The range-extender version has a 37.2-kWh battery. DC charging from 10% to 80% is listed at a minimum of 19.1 minutes for the EV and 14.7 minutes for the range-extender.

Higher trims get Xpeng’s second-generation Turing VLA intelligent-driving system, with claimed computing power of 1,500 TOPS; lower trims use the VLA 2.0 Lite version, which the company says retains more than 90% of the full system’s capabilities. Xpeng also says the assistance-system architecture is shared with its robotaxi vehicles. European timing remains a possibility rather than a confirmed launch date.
