XPeng is preparing to bring the all-electric L05 SUV to the UK next year, with the model scheduled to appear at the Brussels Motor Show in January. European specifications are expected to be announced at that time. The L05 would sit above the G6 and the forthcoming L03 in XPeng’s UK line-up; the G6 is currently the brand’s only UK offering, according to the report.

A key feature is XPeng’s in-house AI system for autonomous driving. The company says it should help the L05 respond more quickly to its surroundings and deliver smoother driving. XPeng also says its AI Intelligent Driving technology performs broadly on a par with Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system. The report notes that the set-up is also used by Youyou, XPeng’s robotaxi brand in China.

The L05 is already sold in China with 58kWh and 71kWh battery options, and a claimed maximum range of 394 miles on the CLTC test cycle. China also gets an extended-range version, but XPeng has not confirmed whether that variant will reach Europe. The SUV is slightly longer than the G6 and offers a 702-litre boot and 41 storage compartments. Its front infotainment display measures 17.3 inches; Chinese-market versions can also be equipped with a matching ceiling-mounted screen for rear passengers.
