Deepal, the Changan-owned brand also sold in China as Shenlan (Deep Blue), has put its flagship S09 crossover on sale in Russia. The SUV, which debuted at the Shanghai auto show in April 2025 and reached Chinese showrooms that May, is offered in Lux and Techno trims, each with a choice of five- or six-seat cabins. Pricing runs from 6,589,900 rubles for the five-seat Lux to 7,039,900 rubles for the six-seat Techno, with the five-seat Techno at 6,889,900 rubles and six-seat Lux at 6,739,900 rubles.

Every version uses a series hybrid setup: a 150 hp 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine serves purely as a generator for a 40.18 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, which recharges from 30 to 80 percent in 15 minutes. Dual electric motors on both axles deliver a combined 492 hp and 595 Nm, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 5.9 seconds and a 205 km/h top speed. Combined range is rated at 1006 km on the NEDC cycle, including 210 km on electric power alone.

The Lux trim brings 20-inch wheels, power side steps, a panoramic roof, ventilated, heated and massaging seats across the first two rows, a 20-speaker audio system, V2L external power, three screens measuring 15.6, 15.6 and 21.4 inches plus a head-up display, and driver assistance that includes automatic parking. The Techno grade steps up to 21-inch wheels on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tyres, air suspension with adaptive CDC dampers, a second-row Cloud Smart seat, cabin air ionisation and a cooled compartment in the front armrest.

At 5205 mm long with a 3105 mm wheelbase, the S09 offers 650 litres of cargo space in five-seat form (2310 litres with the rear bench folded) versus 267 and 1392 litres for the six-seater. Russian buyers receive a five-year or 150,000 km vehicle warranty, while the traction battery is covered for eight years or 160,000 km.
