The week's Russian news points in one direction: range-extended and plug-in hybrids are filling the upper end of the Russian market, while the manufacturers of the biggest SUVs move assembly closer to the customer.
Assembly and incentives
Tank began assembling the Tank 500 at Avtotor's Kaliningrad plant, announced October 19. The first stage uses bodies that are already welded and painted; locally built cars carry the manufacturer's warranty. Recommended prices for 2026-model-year Tank 500s in Russia run from 7,199,000 to 9,199,000 rubles. A Kolesa.ru review of the Esteo Exlantix ET8, assembled in St. Petersburg, shows how incentives shape pricing: the list price is 7.49 million rubles, cut to 6.59 million under Esteo's own program, because a government subsidy had become temporarily unavailable after its funding limit was exhausted.
Hybrids move into the premium range
Avatr is preparing the 07 in three range-extended versions, one rear-drive and two all-wheel-drive, and the model has Russian type approval. Prices will come later; the larger Avatr 11 currently costs 6.99 million to 8.49 million rubles and the 07 is expected to be cheaper.
Voyah will add a five-seat Taishan before the end of 2026, raising cargo capacity to 1,148 litres from 305 litres in the three-row version. No price or sales date is out; the current six-seat flagship lists at 9,775,000 rubles before discounts.
The Tank 400 Hi4-T test puts a number on the hybrid premium: the plug-in Techno Premium starts at just under 7 million rubles, 700,000 rubles more than the petrol Tank 400 Premium, which the review attributes to the Hi4-T system.
What it means
- Local assembly is spreading to the top-end SUVs, with Tank following its Tank 300 into Kaliningrad.
