Chery has begun selling the Arrizo 8 CSH Luxury in Argentina, where it joins the Arrizo 8 PHEV Comfort as the range-topping version of the Chinese-built C-segment sedan. The model is imported from China and distributed locally by Grupo Corven. The Luxury costs US$35,800, a US$1,200 premium over the Comfort, which is priced at US$34,600.

The powertrain carries over from the Comfort: a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 143 hp and 215 Nm, paired with an electric motor rated at 204 hp and 310 Nm. Combined output is 278 hp and 365 Nm. The plug-in hybrid has an 18.4-kWh battery and a claimed electric-only range of 101 km under the WLTP cycle. Chery’s release also cites up to 1,200 km of combined range. Drive goes to the front wheels through an automatic DHT transmission.

The main addition is a suite of more than 14 driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance. Other listed equipment includes eight airbags, a 540-degree camera, 18-inch wheels and 12-inch digital instrument and multimedia displays. The Luxury also gets black synthetic-leather upholstery, while the Comfort has a light-gray cabin; both trims include an emergency charger and a wallbox. The article lists a seven-year/150,000-km vehicle warranty and an eight-year hybrid-system warranty, but gives conflicting mileage limits for the latter: 200,000 km in its main text and 150,000 km in the press release.
