Chery has unveiled an updated Tiggo 7 at its Global Summit in Wuhu, China, just a year after the SUV went on sale in the UK. The latest version retains a familiar overall shape, but adds a larger grille, revised bumpers and side skirts, and refreshed alloy-wheel designs. Its LED headlight signature has also been sharpened, while a roof-mounted housing accommodates equipment for the car’s 20 autonomous driving systems.

The most substantial changes are inside. The cabin has a cleaner layout, with a wide central touchscreen above toggle switches and a separate digital instrument display. Quilted leatherette remains, but the front seats now add massage functions, heating and cooling, plus a deployable footrest. Customisable ambient lighting stretches across the dashboard.

Chery says the Super-Hybrid plug-in hybrid version will gain scheduled charging, letting owners choose when charging starts to take advantage of off-peak electricity. Petrol and conventional self-charging hybrid versions are also expected, though the company has not confirmed their availability. The revised Tiggo 7 is due to be sold alongside the more rugged Tiggo 7X, but Chery has not announced a UK launch date. The current model starts at £24,995, and the report expects a modest increase for the updated SUV.
