Chery plans to bring its premium Exlantix brand to Australia in the first half of 2027, with the ES GT shooting brake and ET SUV leading the launch. Right-hand-drive examples of both vehicles were shown at a Shanghai event, and Chery will manage the Australian rollout directly. The company has not yet announced local prices, detailed specifications or a full launch schedule.
Exlantix will be the name used in Australia and New Zealand because Chery cannot register the Exeed name in some markets. The company says Exeed and Exlantix are not separate brands; Exlantix is already used for its electrified vehicles overseas. The Australian lineup is expected to include both battery-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, although the powertrain choices for the ES GT and ET have not been confirmed. Overseas, the ET is offered as both a battery-electric model and a range-extender, which uses a petrol engine to generate electricity.
The ES GT is a sporty wagon-style model with a low roof and extended rear body, while the ET is an SUV. Chery sees the brand competing broadly with premium Chinese marques such as Zeekr and Denza, though its exact market position will depend on pricing. Exlantix is part of a wider premium business that, according to its executive, has 560,000 customers across more than 40 countries. Its Australian arrival adds to Chery’s expanding local brand portfolio.
