Chery’s premium Lepas brand has shown the Aura, a shooting-brake concept intended to preview the look of future models. The study was presented last week, but Lepas has not confirmed whether it will become a production car. Its exterior was led by Ivan Dulanovic, the brand’s chief designer and a Serbian designer who previously worked at Italdesign.
The design has been likened to earlier petrol-powered Jaguar models and front-engined Aston Martin sports cars. Its large front opening incorporates a display that can show images or text, while the rear light panel is also designed to display messages and animations. Lepas has released no technical details or interior images. The article says some of the concept’s styling elements are expected to appear on future Lepas models and possibly Tenet Plus vehicles.
Chery introduced Lepas in October 2024, positioning it above Omoda and Jaecoo. Its model range currently includes the L8, L6 and L4 crossovers. The brand operates in Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Australia, and is among Chery’s export marques expanding in Europe. ACEA figures cited in the article put sales by Chery Auto and its subsidiaries in Europe at 260,650 vehicles in the first three quarters of 2026, up 255.9% year on year. The name Aura is already used by Lada in Russia and for a Volkswagen electric-car line developed with FAW in China.
