Omoda Jaecoo unveiled the Omoda X in Wuhu, China, on October 20 at the OMODA X NIGHT event during the 2026 International User Summit. Chery’s brand presents it as a blend of SUV practicality, off-road capability and sporty character, rather than a vehicle that fits neatly into a traditional category.
The crossover has 200 mm of ground clearance, can cross water more than 700 mm deep, and is rated to tow up to 1,800 kg. Its roof can carry 75 kg, while the cabin and cargo areas include 39 storage spaces intended for items such as cycling and surfing gear. The interior features a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, a 13.2-inch central screen and physical controls for frequently used functions.
Technology highlights include SIAS, an AI assistant designed to interpret occupants’ intentions without wake words or complex commands, and thermal infrared night vision that can identify hazards up to 90 metres away. X-MODE lets drivers adjust vehicle responses, with a system comparable to one offered on the Chery Group’s Jetour T2 4x4. The Open Mic karaoke feature uses four sound-capture zones, and magnetic NFC-enabled Mecha Pets add cabin interactions. Omoda has not confirmed a Brazilian launch; the company has announced seven planned Brazilian introductions for 2027, with the Omoda 4 the only one named so far.
