Chery has launched the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition in Malaysia. Based on the locally assembled 1.5-litre Turbo variant, it is listed at RM91,800 on the road excluding insurance—RM3,000 above the standard Turbo—but a running promotion brings the advertised price to RM83,800, RM5,000 below the regular car’s price.

The edition’s main changes are a gloss-black front lip with side winglets and a diffuser-style rear extension featuring decorative silver rectangular exhaust outlets. The outlets are not functional. It has no added side skirts or Sport-specific spoiler, and carries over the Turbo’s 18-inch wheels, fitted with 215/55 Giti tyres. Sport badges are added to the grille and tailgate; the interior is unchanged.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 147 PS and 210 Nm, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels. Chery quotes a 0–100 km/h time of 10.3 seconds in Sport mode and fuel consumption of 6.3 litres per 100 km. The 4,318-mm-long SUV has a 2,610-mm wheelbase and a 380-litre boot in Turbo form.

Standard equipment includes dual 10.25-inch displays, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 540-degree camera, six airbags and driver-assistance features including adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. The Sport Edition comes in Carbon Black, Khaki White and Phantom Grey. Chery includes a seven-year/150,000-km warranty and free labour for six scheduled services. The model is assembled at Inokom’s plant in Kulim, Kedah.
