Chery has revealed the Tiggo X7, a more rugged-looking SUV positioned as an alternative to the standard Tiggo 7. It is the first model in a new Tiggo X line. The boxier design features a distinctive grille, recovery-hook-style trim, plastic cladding and C-shaped rear lights in place of the Tiggo 7’s full-width light bar.
The cabin shares its landscape touchscreen and digital instruments with the facelifted Tiggo 7. It seats five, placing it below the seven-seat Tiggo 8 in Chery’s range. The company has not announced the X7’s powertrain, though the source expects petrol and plug-in hybrid options similar to those offered in the Tiggo 7; this remains unconfirmed.
Chery says the X7 has raised ground clearance, off-road tyres and six terrain-focused drive modes. The modes named in the report are Snow, Mud, Sand, Rocks and Water Wading. Its maximum towing capacity is 1,500kg, which is 200kg below that of the related Omoda X. Chery has not confirmed UK availability or pricing. The article suggests it could cost slightly more than the new Tiggo 7, whose current UK starting price is £24,995, but that estimate is not an official figure.
