Chery revealed the Tiggo X7 and third-generation Tiggo 7 at its Brand Night in China on October 27, 2026. The automaker says both are family-oriented C-segment SUVs intended for international markets, but they target different buyers. The X7 is the first vehicle in Chery’s new Tiggo X series, while the Tiggo 7 replaces the current generation, including the version sold in Malaysia.
The boxy Tiggo X7 measures 4,636 mm long and has a 2,700 mm wheelbase. Chery has not released full specifications, but media reports point to turbocharged 1.5-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines, rated at 156 hp and 230 Nm, and 194 hp and 290 Nm respectively. Reported transmissions are a six-speed automatic and a seven-speed dual-clutch unit. Depending on the version, buyers may get front- or all-wheel drive, three road settings and six off-road modes. The SUV is also said to have a 1,500 kg towing capacity; a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor suggests advanced driver-assistance equipment, with reports citing Level 2.5 capability.
The new Tiggo 7 is 4,600 mm long, 36 mm shorter than the X7, and shares its wheelbase. Its exterior retains familiar styling with updated lighting and front-end details. Reports also describe cabin additions including massaging seats and footrests. Chery has not confirmed its powertrains, which are expected to draw from the outgoing model’s range.
