Chery is exploring a Brazilian launch for its premium brands Freelander and Luxeed around 2028, according to a report cited by Notícias Automotivas. The company took a group of Brazilian dealers to China to view products from both brands; any move forward depends on the dealers’ approval of the proposal.

Chery has opted to consider Luxeed rather than Exeed for Brazil. The article describes Luxeed’s range as spanning the RX SUV, a luxury minivan, a midsize sedan and a coupe-style SUV. It also says the RX takes design inspiration from the Ferrari Purosangue. The S7 sedan is among the models shown to dealers in China.

Freelander is linked to Chery’s partnership with Land Rover. The Freelander 8 was also presented to dealers, and the report points to its Land Rover-like design and digitally focused technology as potential attractions for buyers interested in the British marque.

If both brands arrive, Chery could build a broader multi-brand presence in Brazil. Local manufacturing may also be considered, particularly for Freelander, with possible assembly in Itatiaia, Rio de Janeiro. The site previously produced the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport, though the report gives no confirmed launch or production decision.
