Deepal, a brand under China’s Changan Group, has applied for a patent covering a foot-bath system for the second row of a car. The concept is a small tub that can provide warm water and massage for rear passengers. The Deepal S09 is mentioned as a possible early vehicle to feature it, though no production application has been confirmed.

The tub would stow in a compartment beneath a front seat. An electric mechanism would deploy it, while a folding structure would form the basin. Patent application CN122873858A also describes quick-connect water supply and drainage fittings, along with movable barriers intended to limit water movement and splashing while the car is in use.

The design includes ultraviolet-light disinfection, activated when the tub is returned to its storage compartment. The filing addresses practical concerns such as emptying used water and preventing spills, but the patent does not establish that Deepal plans to put the feature into a production vehicle. The proposal is presented as one way Chinese automakers are exploring unusual cabin amenities to distinguish their cars.
