Denza, BYD’s premium brand, will open pre-sales for its new N8 SUV in China on October 26, ahead of a planned November launch. General manager Li Hui announced the schedule on Weibo but did not provide pricing, a specific launch day or delivery details. The all-electric N8 adds a five-seat option to Denza’s SUV range.
Chinese regulatory filings describe rear-wheel-drive versions with a single motor and an all-wheel-drive configuration with three motors. The SUV measures 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,820 mm tall, with a 3,075 mm wheelbase. That makes it 50 mm shorter than the six-seat N8L, while its other listed dimensions match the larger sibling. Filings list peak outputs of 320 kW and 370 kW for single-motor variants; the three-motor setup, with one motor at the front and two at the rear, is rated at 890 kW.
Denza says the N8 will use BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology. The company has previously said the system can provide a usable charge in five minutes and approach a full charge in nine minutes. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging is said to take only three minutes longer.
The N8 name first appeared on a plug-in hybrid with six- and seven-seat layouts in 2023; that model was discontinued less than a year later. The new battery-electric N8 will sit alongside the six-seat N8L, which gained plug-in hybrid and all-electric versions in 2026.
