Denza Z lands at Chinese dealerships ahead of Q4 2026 market launch

The Denza Z, the electric four-seater sports car from BYD's premium brand, has started reaching showrooms around China ahead of an official sales launch in the fourth quarter of 2026. Pre-orders opened earlier at 680,000 yuan (101,090 USD). Two configurations were shown on site: a silver hardtop coupe and a track-oriented variant finished in orange.

The standard coupe stretches 4,780 mm long and rides on a 2,780 mm wheelbase, with blackened pillars and roof plus semi-recessed door handles. Its cabin features a D-shaped wheel with a column-mounted shifter, a 12.8-inch central touchscreen, an 8.88-inch instrument display, a camera-based rear-view mirror, and leather-and-suede upholstery.

The track model adds a large rear wing, aggressive bumpers, staggered tires and orange calipers, and its retractable door handles will be outlawed in China from January 1, 2027. Top speed is 350 km/h. Both versions share a three-motor setup — one 500 kW unit up front and two rear motors worth 680 kW combined — for a total of 1,180 kW (1,582 hp), backed by a 76 kWh flash-charging battery, a 0-100 km/h sprint of 1.96 seconds and 380-410 km of WLTP range.

The Z has also opened pre-orders in the UK, where the entry-level coupe is listed at 142,900 GBP (193,540 USD).
