Dongfeng’s M-Hero brand introduced the X700 in China on October 25, 2026. The boxy plug-in hybrid SUV was developed with Huawei Qiankun and combines a unibody structure with HarmonyOS-based cabin technology and Huawei ADS 5 driver assistance. It is the first M-Hero SUV to use unibody construction; previous models used body-on-frame designs.

The X700 measures 5,035 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,890 or 1,910 mm high, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. Its off-road figures include a maximum 328.8 mm ground clearance, approach and departure angles of 37.5 and 38.3 degrees, and a claimed wading depth of 800 mm. The cabin has two 15.6-inch, 2.5K displays and a 74-inch augmented-reality head-up display. ADS 5 works with 27 sensor points, including lidar.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors, rated at 255 hp at the front and 288 hp at the rear. The all-wheel-drive version is claimed to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.93 seconds. LFP battery options from CATL are listed at 51.46 kWh and 68.10 kWh, with CLTC electric ranges of 285 km and 360 km. The four trims are priced from 147,500 yuan to 187,700 yuan. The article lists 325 km of electric range for the rear-wheel-drive Pro, which does not match the range figures in its battery overview. A cited rival is the BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti 7.
