Brazil recorded 61,995 electrified-vehicle registrations in September, according to the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE). That was down from 64,055 in August, and the segment’s market share slipped to 23.07% from 24.35%. Battery-electric vehicles led the categories with 22,246 registrations, followed by plug-in hybrids at 20,202, full hybrids at 10,678 and mild hybrids at 8,869.
BYD took the first two spots among battery-electric models: the Dolphin Mini registered 9,381 units and the Dolphin 4,132. Geely’s EX2 placed third with 2,724, as delivery difficulties held its registrations below levels seen in preceding months.
Among full hybrids, the Omoda 5 HEV led with 3,615 registrations, ahead of the GWM Haval H6 HEV2 at 2,610 and Toyota Yaris Cross at 1,856. BYD’s Song Pro topped the plug-in hybrid table with 3,963, narrowly ahead of the Haval H6 PHEV’s 3,702. Jaecoo 7 took third with 2,613, replacing the BYD Song Plus in the top three.
Stellantis models occupied all three leading mild-hybrid positions. The Jeep Renegade ranked first at 1,939, followed closely by the Jeep Avenger at 1,865; the Fiat Fastback recorded 1,704. The article attributes the Avenger’s showing to the start of deliveries and availability of its fully electrified range.
