GAC has launched the Yue 7, a five-seat plug-in hybrid crossover, on the Chinese market, taking direct aim at the BYD Ti 7. Four trim levels are on offer, listed at 169,800–215,800 yuan, with a limited-time promotion cutting the range to 161,800–207,800 yuan (24,150–31,015 USD). That puts the entry point well below the Ti 7, which sells for 179,800–239,800 yuan domestically.

The Yue 7 is a large monocoque SUV with an upright, squared-off design — over five meters long with a 2,900 mm wheelbase and 230 mm of ground clearance that air suspension can raise to 310 mm. Its 1.5-liter engine makes 125 kW and pairs with a 205 kW front motor on FWD versions, good for 0–100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, while the AWD variant adds a 220 kW rear motor and cuts that to 4.2 seconds. Buyers choose between 28.3 kWh and 50 kWh batteries, delivering 161–261 km of electric range on the CLTC cycle.

Inside there is a 1.1-meter panoramic display stretching beneath the windshield, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 745-liter trunk that grows to 1,860 liters with the rear seats folded. GAC fits the ADiGO 3.0 driver-assistance suite with 27 sensors, and top trims add a 192-line roof-mounted LiDAR, enabling point-to-point Navigate On Autopilot on urban roads and highways — though the system stays at L2, so the driver must keep monitoring it.

GAC plans to sell the model abroad as the XT80, and the SUV has already been teased for the UAE as the start of its global rollout.
