Geely says cumulative production of its EX2 electric hatch has passed one million units, roughly two years after the model debuted in China as the Xingyuan. The milestone vehicle left the production line on October 20. The total covers vehicles for China and export markets, but Geely has not provided a split; it is a production figure, not a sales tally.
Output has accelerated in recent months: the EX2 reached 800,000 units in August, after passing 600,000 in March, and the final 200,000 were built in about two months. Separately, China registrations reached 465,775 in 2025 and 310,391 from January through September 2026. Monthly registrations rose from 32,306 in July to 44,275 in September. The hatch is also sold in Latin America, Southeast Asia, Australia and the UK, sometimes under the E2 name.
In Brazil, where the EX2 went on sale in November 2025, production is due to start in December at the Ayrton Senna Complex in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná, through Geely’s partnership with Renault. The model was added to local production plans after demand for the compact hatch grew; the factory began assembling the EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV in September. Brazilian versions currently use a 39.4-kWh LFP battery and a 116-hp rear motor, with 289 km of range under the Inmetro cycle.
A larger 47-kWh battery may be offered on the Brazil-built car, according to a report cited by the source. In China, that pack is rated for up to 480 km on the CLTC cycle. The report also points to possible multimedia and driver-assistance updates, but those changes have not been confirmed by Geely.
