Geely revealed the Monjaro EM-i at the 2026 Paris Motor Show on October 14, presenting it as a premium-focused midsize family SUV. Its powertrain combines a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a dedicated plug-in hybrid system. Buyers can also choose an electric all-wheel-drive setup, while the standard model has Pure, Hybrid, Power and Snow drive modes. AWD versions add Sand and Off-Road settings and use adaptive suspension; the SUV’s braked towing capacity is 1,500 kg.

The Monjaro EM-i is built on Geely’s GEA Evo architecture, with front- and rear-axle decoupling and torque vectoring. It measures 4,800 mm long, with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. Geely lists up to 130 mm of second-row knee room and a 633-litre boot, growing to 1,532 litres with the rear seats folded. The cabin includes a 12.3-inch driver display and 15.4-inch infotainment screen, with a 25.6-inch head-up display available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are integrated into the Flyme Auto system.

Other listed equipment includes an optional 16-speaker, 1,000 W audio system, seven airbags and 13 Level 2 active-safety features. Geely has not confirmed a South African launch for the model. The article says the brand’s local subsidiary has confirmed seven new models for the region in 2027, as the Monjaro EM-i forms part of Geely’s global strategy for that year.
