GWM’s Haval H7 2WD plug-in hybrid used 1.62 liters of fuel on a media drive from Parqal in Pasay to Subic, Philippines, according to the event’s recorded figures. The writer estimated fuel economy at about 35 km/L, while the car’s trip computer still showed more than 939 km of fuel range. The result came from GWM’s Go 1,000 More drive, which included three top-grade H7s and one mid-grade 2WD model.
The 2WD PHEV was priced at P1,548,000. Compared with the higher-spec version, it has smaller wheels and omits some equipment, most notably a sunroof, but the cabin’s overall appearance was described as very similar. Its powertrain lacks the additional motor found in the top variant and produces 321 horsepower and 540 Nm of torque. The model’s electric-only range exceeds 100 km.
The route began in Pasay and went via Total in Apalit before finishing at a station near Subic’s freeport zone. The driver used EV mode through the first leg, then maintained roughly 85–90 km/h with EV priority enabled. After the displayed battery range fell to 3 km, the driver switched to hybrid mode; downhill sections of the SCTEX also helped restore some charge. Traffic, air-conditioning use and overtaking were part of the drive, rather than a strictly controlled economy test.
The report attributes the low fuel use to making effective use of the PHEV system and its drive modes. GWM said H7 buyers were waiting for vehicle allocations and that it expected to meet that demand by the end of November.
