GWM Poer tops Quatro Rodas' 2026 ranking of midsize pickups under R$ 250,000

Brazilian magazine Quatro Rodas has named the GWM Poer P30 Exclusive 2.4 the best midsize pickup costing up to R$ 250,000 in its Melhor Compra 2026 rankings. At R$ 240,000, the Chinese truck is a fully loaded flagship sold at entry-segment money, which shakes up the class — though the premium kit comes with a high insurance bill and pricey replacement parts.

The Poer uses a 184-hp 2.4 turbo-diesel with a nine-speed automatic and 4x4 drive. Inside there are two large screens, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated electric front seats and even a soft-touch dashboard, rare in this class. The magazine flags one drawback: very firm suspension tuning that suits hauling more than everyday comfort. Its cost data show 8% depreciation, R$ 6,116 a year in insurance, and a left headlight that alone costs R$ 9,443.

Second place went to the Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 GLS, which after a price cut now costs the same as the previous GL trim while adding painted bumpers, 17-inch alloy wheels and an 8-inch touchscreen; its 204-hp engine is the strongest of the three. Third was the Ford Ranger Black 2.0, a rear-wheel-drive-only version with a 170-hp 2.0 turbo-diesel that the magazine calls efficient but down on power against its rivals — although it posts the lowest maintenance costs of the trio.
