Huawei's HIMA extends delivery slump to a third month with 42,101 August vehicles

Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) handed over 42,101 vehicles in August, a 5.52 percent drop from a year earlier that extends its losing streak to a third straight month. The tally was also 6.54 percent below July's 45,046, based on figures the alliance published on Tuesday.

The longer view is healthier. Retail data from the China Passenger Car Association puts HIMA's January-August total at 329,739 units, an 11.42 percent year-on-year gain, while the alliance itself pegs year-to-date deliveries up 10.8 percent. Cumulative deliveries across the lineup have now topped 1.52 million, a ramp-up pace HIMA describes as unmatched among China's emerging car brands.

The soft patch stands in sharp contrast to late 2025, when monthly volumes climbed from about 53,000 in September to nearly 90,000 by December. To rebuild momentum, Huawei and its partners are accelerating product rollouts: the Stelato G9, developed with BAIC, went on sale August 20 and drew more than 5,000 firm orders within a day, while the Maextro V800 and V680 MPVs built with JAC topped 3,500 orders in their first 24 hours after an August 5 launch.

Individual models are also hitting milestones. The Luxeed V9 MPV from the Chery partnership has cleared 20,000 deliveries since its May 15 debut at a starting price of 389,800 yuan, and the Seres-built Aito M6 passed 45,000 units four months after launch. HIMA spans five brands covering the 150,000-to-1.5-million-yuan range with Seres, Chery, SAIC, BAIC and JAC, and Huawei keeps widening the circle: GAC's Aistaland launched its first model, the GT7, in June, and Dongfeng's Epicland is due to begin shipping its first model, the X9, this month.
