Xpeng has confirmed plans to enter South Korea and appointed former Volvo Cars Korea executive Lee Man-sik to lead its local business. Lee will become managing director of Xpeng Motors Korea on December 1, 2026. The company has not yet disclosed when it will begin sales, which models it will offer first or how its local operations will be organized.

Lee brings more than 30 years of automotive experience. He joined Volvo Cars Korea in 2003 and worked across brand positioning, product planning, sales and marketing, and dealer-network expansion. At Xpeng, his remit will include establishing the company’s business in South Korea, developing sales and service networks, forming strategic partnerships and building brand awareness. Xpeng says it will provide further details later.

The planned entry comes amid rapid growth in Xpeng’s overseas business. The company delivered 13,326 vehicles outside China in October, up 166% from a year earlier and equal to 26.53% of its monthly total. Deliveries across all markets reached 50,237, a year-on-year increase of 19.57% and its first monthly result above 50,000. For January through October, overseas deliveries rose 109.68% to 72,805, while total deliveries fell 5.80% to 334,604.

Xpeng said it operated in 83 countries and regions as of November 2. Its recent overseas activity includes the G9L’s introduction in Hong Kong and Europe, planned launches of the GX and G9L in the Middle East, and global shipments of the Mona L05. South Korea would extend the company’s presence in Asia, though its market-entry schedule remains unannounced.
