Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam says it handed over nearly 1,000 Jaecoo J5 SUVs to customers nationwide in September 2026. The company held a coordinated delivery event across its dealer network on October 3. The model was priced in Vietnam in mid-August and is available with gasoline, Super Hybrid and fully electric powertrains, priced from VND 500 million to VND 800 million.
The J5 SHS-H combines a gasoline engine with an electric motor and has a claimed range of about 1,000 km under the NEDC test cycle. The J5 EV is rated at approximately 208 hp and uses a 58.9 kWh battery, with a claimed NEDC range of 461 km. The SHS-H and EV versions also come with 18 driver-assistance features, a 540-degree camera, six airbags and a 13.2-inch central display. Jaecoo says the J5 EV can be equipped with a system combining fixed and portable charging with V2L and V2V functions.
The company offers different warranty terms by powertrain: the SHS-H vehicle, gasoline engine and electric motor are covered for 10 years or 1 million km, while its high-voltage battery is covered for eight years or 1 million km. For the J5 EV, vehicle coverage is eight years or 200,000 km, and the battery and motor are covered for eight years or 160,000 km. The J5 is the first model selected for assembly at Omoda & Jaecoo Vietnam’s planned plant in Hung Yen. The company also says it is expanding its dealer, service and parts-supply networks. The article cites reported J5 EV sales rankings in Indonesia, Thailand and the UK as international context.
