JMC has introduced the EV3 in Chile, adding a small electric hatchback to a market where the brand has previously focused on electric commercial vehicles. The car is developed by JMEV, JMC’s new-energy division formed through a joint venture with Renault, and has been sold in China since 2019. Its list price in Chile is 14.99 million pesos; promotional brand and financing incentives reduce that to 12.99 million pesos.

The EV3 measures 3,720 mm long, 1,640 mm wide and 1,535 mm high, with a 2,390 mm wheelbase. Its permanent-magnet electric motor produces 67 hp and 125 Nm, drawing energy from a 30.24-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery. JMC quotes a WLTP range of up to 223 km, a top speed of 110 km/h and a 0–100 km/h time of 4.5 seconds. DC fast charging is said to take the battery from 30% to 80% in 30 minutes.

Inside, the four-seat cabin has a 10.1-inch central display that also shows driving information because there is no separate instrument cluster. The system supports CarbitLink, while the review notes the absence of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Rear-seat knee room is limited for taller passengers. Safety equipment includes front airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, a 360-degree camera and rear parking sensors.

JMC’s Chilean distributor, Astara, is targeting about 20 EV3 sales per month for the rest of 2026 and around 50 monthly in 2027. The launch comes as Chile’s electric passenger-car market grows: 3,483 of the 8,209 electric vehicles sold from January through September 2026 were passenger cars, including 1,449 urban models.
