Chinese EV maker Leapmotor sold around 105,000 vehicles outside its home market in the first eight months of 2026 — a figure roughly 121 per cent higher than the 47,500 it managed in all of 2025. The pace built steadily: about 30,000 units in the first quarter, 40,000 in the second, and 35,000 in July and August alone, a two-month tally worth more than 70 per cent of last year's full-year result.
Speaking at the Spanish launch of the B03X, Francesco Giacalone, who leads brand strategy, product and marketing for Leapmotor International, said Europe remains the core of the overseas business, with South America, Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia contributing a growing share. The brand now claims a presence in more than 50 markets across five continents, backed by over 1,000 sales and service points beyond China.
The home market still dwarfs all of this. August global deliveries hit a record 103,129, up 80.7 per cent year on year and a fifth consecutive monthly high, after 101,267 cars in July made it two straight months above 100,000. Year-to-date volume stands at 560,883, up 70.55 per cent. To reach its stated goal of one million vehicles in 2026, Leapmotor needs a further 439,117 deliveries from September to December — an average just under 109,800 a month, or about 6.4 per cent above its August best. "We will make one million vehicles," Giacalone told media in Spain.
Australia remains a footnote in the expansion. Local deliveries totalled just 112 units in August, up 286 per cent from a low base, with the C10, B10 and B05 currently on sale and the B03X expected to join as a fourth model after appearing in government approval documents.
