Lei Jun Steps Out for First Skynomad Handovers as Xiaomi's EREV Duo Reaches Customers

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has been out in person handing keys to the first owners of the new Skynomad extended-range electric vehicles in China, marking the start of deliveries across all four versions of the N70 and N90. The two models share one exterior design and differ mainly in size, with the N70 the more compact of the pair. There is still no word on Middle East availability, though Xiaomi has previously said it intends to sell its cars outside China eventually.

Pricing opens at 209,900 yuan (roughly $31,300) for the front-drive, five-seat N70 Pro, rising to 239,900 yuan for the all-wheel-drive N70 Max, 269,900 yuan for the five-seat N90 Max, and 299,900 yuan (about $44,100) for the flagship seven-seat N90 Max Explorer Edition, which bundles an electric folding roof tent. Options include a rear projection unit at 10,000 yuan and power-deploying side steps at 6,000 yuan.

Packaging is the headline trick: the 4.96-meter N70 seats five with front chairs that swivel 180 degrees to face the rear bench, while the 5.285-meter N90 takes seven in a 2+2+3 layout and offers 11 interior configurations with up to 1,831 liters of storage. In both cars the seats and console units run on sliding rails set into the floor, creating a walk-through front end — Xiaomi pitches the concept as blending SUV looks with MPV-style cabin flexibility — and buyers can add a 9-liter compressor fridge that glides along those rails, plus a roof-mounted entertainment screen.

Every version pairs a 112 kW (150 hp) 1.5-liter turbo range extender from Changan-owned Harbin Dongan — reportedly costing Xiaomi around 8,000 yuan per unit and needing service only every three years or 30,000 km — with electric drive. The base N70 Pro uses a single 210 kW motor and a 52 kWh Sunwoda LFP battery rated at 351 km CLTC; the remaining trims get dual motors totaling 310 kW and a 76 kWh CALB pack, good for 505 km (N70 Max) or 464 km (N90) of electric range. With a full tank and charge, combined range spans 1,351-1,705 km, and fast charging restores 20-80% in 18 minutes. Dual-chamber adaptive air suspension is standard everywhere except the N70 Pro, while every car carries roof LiDAR and L2 driver assists built on Nvidia's 700-TOPS Thor-U chip, including city-and-highway NoA navigation support.
