Li Auto's August deliveries jump 32%, snapping a three-month slide

Li Auto delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, a year-on-year jump of roughly 32% that marks its strongest growth in two years and snaps a three-month streak of declining sales. The rebound follows a summer of product refreshes, though the company is still playing catch-up: deliveries for the first eight months totaled 261,619 units, marginally below the same period a year earlier, and its cumulative tally has now passed 1.8 million vehicles.

The near-term target looks reachable. With July and August combining for 68,147 units, September needs somewhere between 26,853 and 31,853 deliveries to satisfy the third-quarter guidance of 95,000–100,000 issued last month. The full-year goal of about 490,000 is a taller order — it would require roughly 228,400 vehicles over the final four months, an average near 57,100 per month and about 52% above the August result.

Li Auto refreshed its L-series extended-range SUVs over the past three months and is counting on the new lineup plus software upgrades to sustain the recovery. A next-generation Mega electric MPV debuts September 2, the flagship battery-electric i9 family SUV follows in mid-September, and the Mach VLA driving software will reach models on Thor and Orin-X platforms this month. A launch event in Dubai is also set to formally open the Middle East market.

On the ground, the company ended August with 487 retail stores across 160 cities, 533 service centers and authorized shops in 218 cities, and a charging network of 4,162 supercharging stations with 22,939 stalls.
