MG dealers in Vietnam are offering steep discounts on the HS, with advertised prices starting at about VND455 million. The offers mainly apply to vehicles built in 2024 that remain in dealer stock, rather than newly produced cars, and availability and color choices may vary by outlet.
The 1.5T DEL is listed at around VND455 million, VND244 million below its VND699 million list price. The 1.5T LUX is advertised for about VND499 million, a reduction of VND250 million from VND749 million. At those prices, the HS sits in territory usually associated with smaller SUVs, including the Kia Sonet and Toyota Raize, and can cost less than the Mazda CX-3. Its usual midsize-SUV competitors include the Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage and Ford Territory.
The Vietnam-market HS returned in January 2024 and is imported from Thailand. Equipment cited in the report includes LED lighting, 18-inch wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, wireless phone charging, a panoramic roof and an eight-speaker Bose system. Driver-assistance features vary by version and should be checked against the specific car.
Both versions use a turbocharged 1.5-liter petrol engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. Published output is 173 hp and 275 Nm, with stated average fuel consumption of 6.8 liters per 100 km. Buyers considering a discounted 2024-built car may save on the purchase price, but the manufacturing year could affect resale value.
