Omoda will show its new compact 4 SUV in Europe for the first time at the 2026 Paris motor show. The model is expected to reach UK showrooms no earlier than early 2027, where it will become the entry point to the brand’s range, below the Omoda 5, 7 and 9. It was previously presented at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show.
The first version will use Omoda’s SHS-H full-hybrid system: a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, a small electric motor and a 1.83kWh battery. A dedicated hybrid transmission sends drive to the front wheels. Omoda has not given the 4’s fuel-economy figure or an electric-only range. In the related Omoda 5, the same type of hybrid system is rated at 52.2mpg, compared with 34.5mpg for its petrol-only counterpart.
A fully electric variant is also confirmed, although its name and specifications have not been announced; the article suggests it could be called E4. The 4 shares the T1X platform with the Omoda 5. UK pricing is still unknown, but the new SUV is expected to cost less to start than the Omoda 5, currently priced from £25,915. Omoda’s UK manager has cautioned that the 4 is not intended to be a bare-bones, lowest-price offering. Its styling is angular, while the cabin is set to feature a large central screen, a flip-up start button and a Nintendo Switch docking station.
