Omoda and Jaecoo brought the C5 SHS-H and Jaecoo J5 SHS-H and J5 EV to Car Choice Awards 2026 in Vietnam, where visitors could inspect the cars and take them for test drives. The J5 SHS-H and EV were nominated in the event’s “New Car with Outstanding Equipment” and “Gen Z Car of the Year” categories. Both J5 versions were presented with a 13.2-inch portrait touchscreen, 18 ADAS functions, a 540-degree HD camera, an eight-speaker Sony audio system and a panoramic sunroof.
The J5 SHS-H pairs a petrol engine with an electric motor and has a claimed maximum range of 1,000 km under the NEDC test cycle. The article also notes a 10-year or 1-million-km warranty covering the vehicle, petrol engine and electric motor. The all-electric J5 EV is specified with a 208-hp motor and a 58.9-kWh battery, for a stated range of 461 km. It also supports V2L and V2V functions and has a T-box connected-car system.
At the event’s test-drive area, the C5 SHS-H drew praise for quick throttle response and a smooth transition between electric and petrol power. The J5’s higher seating position offered a broad view, while its multi-link rear suspension and firm chassis were described as helping control body movement. The C5 SHS-H was also highlighted for its fastback-inspired styling and Super Hybrid system.
