Omoda, the brand launched by Chery in 2022, has presented the Omoda X concept as a preview of its next design direction. The angular crossover appears close to production, although Omoda Jaecoo has not said when a series version might arrive. The concept’s styling is positioned against rugged vehicles such as the Dacia Duster, with a more theatrical take on Omoda’s Cyber Mecha design language.

The exterior features distinctive LED details in the headlamps and rear lights, bright tow hooks and steeply cut bumpers. Omoda lists 200 mm of ground clearance, a maximum roof load of 75 kg and a permitted trailer weight of 1,800 kg. No powertrain details have been released; the company says only that the X is not an electric car.

Inside, the concept has a flattened steering wheel, carbon-look trim, a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 13.2-inch multimedia screen. Equipment highlights include night vision capable of detecting potential obstacles up to 90 metres away, as well as cabin microphones for karaoke. Omoda Jaecoo says it has sold more than 1.4 million vehicles worldwide, with about half of sales coming from Europe. The source expects a production Omoda X could also reach Russia, but no market timing has been confirmed.
