Chery-backed Omoda has shown the Omoda X, a concept SUV with a rugged look that the brand says could point toward the design of future models. Its shape evokes vehicles such as the Renault Duster, while angular bodywork and a futuristic visual theme are intended to give it a distinct identity. Omoda was established in 2022 and is expanding internationally alongside its sister marque Jaecoo.

The prototype has 200 mm of ground clearance, a roof load limit of 75 kg and a maximum towing capacity of 1,800 kg. Exterior details include integrated tow hooks, slanted bumpers and distinctive lighting, including rear LEDs with a lightning-like pattern. Inside, the concept features a flattened-top-and-bottom steering wheel, carbon-fiber-look trim and a covered red start button. Its digital displays comprise a 10.25-inch instrument screen and a 13.2-inch multimedia screen.

Omoda has not announced when the X might enter production or reach showrooms. It has also revealed no motor, performance figures or confirmed powertrain type; indications that it could be electric are not enough to establish whether it will be electric, hybrid or combustion-powered. Omoda and Jaecoo are preparing to make their Colombian debut at the 2026 Bogotá Motor Show, though the company has not said whether the X will be sold there. The Duster is cited as a relevant rival in a market where adventure-styled family SUVs have appeal.
