Omoda, a brand under China’s Chery Group, unveiled the Omoda X at an event in Wuhu, China, during the group’s international user gathering. The crossover pairs angular, robot-inspired styling with equipment aimed at outdoor use, though the company describes its role as everyday driving and light off-roading rather than demanding terrain work.
The Omoda X measures 4.65 meters long, 1.91 meters wide and 1.72 meters tall. It has 19-inch wheels with all-terrain tires and 200 mm of ground clearance. Omoda also cites water-wading capability above 700 mm and a towing capacity of up to 1.8 tonnes. The cabin includes 39 storage areas, alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 13.2-inch central screen. Physical controls remain for the climate system and driving modes.
Buyers are expected to have a choice of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Omoda says the model will be offered with fully electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains, but has not yet provided detailed performance figures, engine or motor options, or market-specific launch dates. Global market arrivals are expected to begin in 2027, with further details due in the coming months.
