Omoda previewed the X crossover in China at an event called Omoda X Night on Oct. 20, 2026, sharing images and initial specifications. The model introduces a design approach Omoda calls “Crossvolution,” combining everyday usability with an adventure-oriented look. It measures 4,654 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,702 mm tall, with a 2,700 mm wheelbase.

The exterior uses geometric forms inspired by the Cyber Mecha design theme also seen on the Omoda 4. Off-road cues include extended plastic wheel-arch trim, all-terrain tires and protective-looking lower sections on the front and rear bumpers. Omoda also cites a scratch-resistant Progloss Plus Clearcoat. Ground clearance is 200 mm, and the company says the vehicle can ford water up to 700 mm deep.

Inside, the X has a 10.25-inch digital instrument display and a 13.2-inch touchscreen with voice control. Other listed features include four-zone climate control, physical buttons for vehicle functions, an X-Mode driving selector and 39 storage locations. A driver-assistance feature uses long-range thermal detection, with a stated detection distance of up to 90 metres.

Omoda did not announce the available powertrains at the preview. It did state a maximum towing capacity of 1,800 kg. The article infers that the display car may be a plug-in hybrid from its two fuel-filler doors, and cites earlier reports that HEV, PHEV and EV versions are planned. A full reveal and further details are still to come.
