Omoda unveiled the X prototype at Chery’s 2026 International User Summit in Wuhu, China. The brand describes it as a Cross Off-Road Vehicle, or COV, combining everyday crossover use with features intended for more demanding terrain. Its design uses angular surfaces and pronounced body volumes to suggest a sporty, rugged character.

The X measures 4.95 metres long, 1.92 metres wide and 1.70 metres tall, with a 2.70-metre wheelbase. Inside, it pairs a 10.25-inch digital instrument display with a 13.2-inch multimedia screen. Exterior details include geometric elements and rear lights with a lightning-inspired pattern.

Omoda cites 200 mm of ground clearance, a 700 mm wading depth and a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg. The roof can carry 75 kg. Technology includes a thermal camera that the company says can identify people, animals and obstacles up to 90 metres away, along with the SIAS voice-interaction platform and X-Mode driving settings. The cabin also has an OMODA Open Mic karaoke function.

The company says the model will be offered as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid or battery-electric vehicle, with all-wheel-drive configurations available. Omoda & Jaecoo already operates in Argentina, but the source does not confirm whether the X will be added to that market.
