Ora 5 Sedan surfaces in MIIT filings, rounding out a three-body Ora 5 lineup

Great Wall Motor's Ora brand is turning the Ora 5 into a multi-shape family. A September 2026 filing with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shows a sedan variant, making it the third body style after the original Crossover that debuted in 2025 and the long-roofed Wagon/Touring that appeared in the same database only a month earlier.

The sedan retains Ora's soft design language — oversized rounded headlights and curvy body surfaces — but switches to a fastback roofline that flows into the tail, an opera-style quarter glass at the C-pillar, and a full-width rear light bar with GWM lettering in the tailgate. It measures 4,758 mm long, 1,833 mm wide and 1,626 mm tall on a 2,720 mm wheelbase. The wheelbase matches the Crossover's, yet the body is 287 mm longer overall.

Filing photos list roof-mounted LiDAR, radar and cameras for driver assistance, a panoramic glass roof and several alloy wheel designs as options. Propulsion comes from a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor capped at 170 km/h, fed by an LFP battery supplied by SVOLT, though capacity and range were not disclosed. The Wagon variant filed previously takes a different route, pairing a 1.5-liter turbocharged Hi2 plug-in hybrid system instead.

Ora is expected to officially launch the sedan in China toward the end of the fourth quarter of 2026, with the official name, battery details, range, trim structure and pricing still to be announced.
