Fresh details filed with China's industry ministry show the upcoming second-generation BYD Seal 07 will stretch its electric range to as much as 718 km on the European WLTP cycle. Slotted beneath the Ocean series' flagship Seal 08, the roughly 5.08-meter sedan is set to succeed the current Seal 07, which only reached the domestic market in March 2026, and it rides on a 2,960 mm wheelbase.

Two battery-electric versions are on the list. The base car pairs a 76.744 kWh LFP pack with a 245 kW (329 hp) motor, good for 775 km CLTC — about 636 km WLTP — and can refill from 10% to 97% in nine minutes thanks to the flash-charging-capable Blade 2.0 chemistry. The flagship variant steps up to an 88.682 kWh pack and a 300 kW (408 hp) motor, delivering 875 km CLTC and 718 km WLTP with a 240 km/h top speed. The batteries account for roughly 28–30% of the car's curb weight.

A DM-i plug-in hybrid rounds out the lineup, combining a 115 kW (154 hp) 1.5-liter turbo engine with a 160 kW (215 hp) electric motor. It carries a 38 kWh pack enabling 245 km of electric-only driving, sips 4.25 L/100 km once the battery is depleted, and tops out at 190 km/h.

Interest in the outgoing car has already faded: China EV DataTracker figures show just 1,005 Seal 07 units (BEV and DM-i combined) delivered in August 2026, a sign that BYD is holding back ahead of the next generation's arrival.
