Asia Motors, Soueast’s official distributor in Bahrain, has introduced the seven-seat S08 in two powertrain versions: a turbocharged petrol model and the plug-in hybrid S08 DM. The two versions share the same dimensions, measuring 4.81 meters long, 1.93 meters wide and 1.705 meters tall, with a 2.82-meter wheelbase.
The S08 DM combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor for a claimed total output of 255 kW and 525 Nm. It uses a 1DHT hybrid transmission and is reported to accelerate from 60 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds. Its 18.4-kWh CATL battery provides an electric range of 89 km under WLTC or 108 km under NEDC; charging from 30% to 80% takes 18 minutes. The model also has a 70-liter fuel tank and can supply up to 3.3 kW to external electrical devices.
The petrol S08 has a 1.5-liter direct-injection engine producing 170 hp and 270 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Its reported WLTC fuel consumption is 7.41 liters per 100 km, and it requires gasoline rated at 92 octane or higher.
Equipment varies by version and trim. The hybrid gets a 15.6-inch center display, a 10.25-inch instrument screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera system. Higher trims add features including massaging seats and adaptive cruise control. The report also lists driver-assistance and safety systems for both powertrains.
